Dressage Yoga is based on the fundamentals of IYENGAR. Alignment and foundation of the human body to create a strong mind body connection.
No matter if you are a beginner or a Grand Prix rider, this class is for you. The Core Fundamentals class is a FULL BODY WORKOUT and is for ALL Levels! Its 1 hour 35 minutes long. The first 35 minutes is ground stretching of the Hamstrings, Quadriceps, Hips and Hip Flexors, then moves to Dressage specific balancing poses and Warrior poses, then finishes strong with core. For the fastest progress you should be doing this class at least three times a week combined with your riding regiment! Throughout the class students are given beginner and advanced options for each pose/stretch. No excuses since you can do this in your own living room or even at the barn!

Miguel Latimer is the founder and creator of Dressage Yoga. He is an Internet Engineer, a registered Teacher of Teachers in Alignment Based Yoga (E-RYT 500) , a certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), a Martial Artist (Kajukembo) and also has his USDF Bronze & Silver Medals in Dressage.
Miguel was trained at the College Of Purna Yoga by Aadil Palkivala who trained with B.K.S Iyengar since birth. Miguel specializes in Yoga for shoulders, hips, knees and all sections of the Spine. He has in depth training in Human Anatomy, Motion Mechanics, Pranayama, Meditation and Nutrition. As a young man Miguel suffered from chronic back and shoulder pain for more than 20 years and was ready to give up when he found Aadil and the College Of Purna Yoga. With the knowledge he learned Miguel was able to customize Asana's to heal himself and now is healthier and happier than ever before.
Miguel has been riding horses since he was a young boy, however has only been doing Dressage for 6 years. In this short period of time he has earned his USDF Bronze & Silver Medals and is well on the way to his USDF Gold Medal. The secret to his success comes from Miguel’s ability to create Asana training sequences specifically for Dressage. With his unique background and experience in Martial Arts, Yoga and Dressage the training sequences work to extremely accelerate the advancement up the levels.
